Student Identification Badges

October 1, 2021 The School District of Indian River County (SDIRC) is proud to share that we have implemented the use of student identification (I.D.) badges. The identification badges are school specific, with an identifying picture of each student, and use technology to assist students and staff in their daily functions. There are many benefits of student identification badges, such as enhanced school security by allowing staff members to easily identify students on campus, tracking school bus ridership attendance with a time stamp logged each time a student enters and exits SDIRC transportation, and providing a way to quickly conduct an attendance count in the event of a school disruption. Using our new I.D. badges, day-to-day school operations will be streamlined for students and staff members, providing an efficient solution to meal service accounting, and accessing and tracking media services. Please urge your student to wear their badge daily from the time they arrive to campus until they leave campus, or once they enter their bus in the morning until they exit their bus in the afternoon. Each school can print additional student identification badges; however, there will be a $5.00 fee to replace a lost badge.

Thank you for your partnership in prioritizing your child’s safety while on SDIRC campuses and transportation.

Stronger Together.
